The actions of this project target the following species:

Great Crested Newt

All of these are listed on the red data list for endangered amphibian species in Lower Saxony. Their populations are in a poor condition.

Fire-bellied toad and great crested newt are listed in Annex II of the Habitats Directive. To ensure their survival, special protection areas must be created.

All three species are listed in Annex IV of the Habitats Directive and enjoy a particular high level of protection.
